O Da Irony!

Campaign season is in full swing and so is the Republican attack machine. We here at the BilgeBucket have already noted in some of our headlines many ironical statements (Ironies of the Day) concerning President Bush and other top ranking members of the GOP. But now they're coming in hot and heavy and we've decided to keep track. This will be an ongoing feature, so tune in every week for additions to the list.

Addendum-011805: We've been debating whether or not to take down this page. We haven't updated it since the election. Well, the campaign season is over, but the ironies continue. We're going to keep documenting the hypocrisy of this wacky administration and their lackeys. Maybe in 2008, people will pay attention a little more closely. Only four more years!

During the election campaign, President Bush said, "I will never give another country veto power over our national security." Yet, Pakistan won't permit American military and intelligence forces in Afghanistan to cross the border into Pakistan to pursue militants such as Osama Bin Laden, the man responsible for 9/11.
Neoconservative Republicans, led by Minnesota Senator Norm Coleman, want U.N. Secretary to step down because of the "oil for food" programs, yet are willing to overlook the blatant corruption of Halliburton receiving no bid contracts in Iraq and the horrendous deception by the White House on the existence of WMDs in Iraq.
Tom Delay and other right wing Republicans claim it was the liberal judges that killed Terri Schiavo, and yet the six of the ten judges of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals who upheld the decision to not force feed Schiavo were Republican.
President Bush wants to promote a 'Culture of Life' but yet continues to support the death penalty and has sent thousands of Americans and Iraqis to their deaths
