At that time, Afghanistan had set a record in opium production and that it had increased ever since the U.S. occupation started in 2001. Production has dropped since the all time high in 2007, but it is still higher than in was before the occupation. Here&#8217;s a <a title=\"Opium Production in Afghanistan\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Opium_production_in_Afghanistan\" target=\"_blank\">link<\/a> to a Wikipedia article about the subject.
