General Disappointment

When American CEO/Dictator Donald Trump appointed former general John Kelly as Chief of Staff, many breathed a sigh of relief in hoping that maybe the stoic ex-Marine could keep Trump in line. Ahhh! What naivete! John Kelly has proven in recent weeks that he’s not really not that different from Trump and that he’s only another enabler to the orange haired man-child who is our current President.

Take Kelly defending Trump’s recent call to a military widow where he told a grieving widow “he knew what he signed up for”. Kelly not only defended Trump but criticized Representative Frederica Wilson’s criticism of Trump’s wording. Trump’s press secretary,a.k.a. secretary of deception, Sarah Huckabee Sanders even went as far as to say it was inappropriate of Wilson to question Kelly because he was “a four star general”. Well how authoritarian of you Ms. Huckabee Sanders!  Mr. Kelly isn’t in the military anymore. This is a democracy and there is such a thing as freedom of speech and freedom of the press, which is guaranteed by the U.S. constitution. When John Kelly says and does things which are undemocratic and wrong, it is our right as Americans to question him.

Speaking of which…last week, Kelly showed his ignorance on history when he claimed that the Civil War could have been avoided if only the South and North would have been willing to compromise. Like Professor Stephanie McCurry says, “That statement could have been given by [former Confederate general] Jubal Early in 1880”. Well, the North and South did compromise before in 1820 (Missouri Compromise) and the Compromise of 1850 and those compromises only postponed the inevitable. It took a war to rid this nation of the disgusting institution of slavery. But unfortunately, thanks to the botched Reconstruction and Jim Crow laws, racism persists today. Unbelievably, we have Confederate revisionists in power in this country who want to return to those glory days of white supremacists, KKK marches and frightened minorities. Mr. Kelly: your authoritarianism and racism are showing and it’s pretty ugly.

American CEO/Dictator Donald Trump's authoritarian Chief of Staff, John Kelly, sez if only the slaves would have compromised and agreed to a pay cut, the Civil War could have been avoided, which delights Confederate Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III and an old, hooded, Confederate white knight.

America Does NOT Do Nazism

This past weekend, violence erupted as a white supremacist plowed his car at protesters, who were protesting against the white supremacists and fascists who were rallying in Charlottesville, Virginia. One person was killed and several were injured. In commenting on the incident, Republicans, including American CEO/Dictator Donald Trump were tepid initially in their condemnation of these thuggish attacks, so typical of Nazi fascists, not just in America but back in 1930’s Germany. Trump and Attorney Confederate General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III only just today, three days after the incident, came out and condemned the attacks as domestic terrorism.

We’ve commented before how the Republicans have swung radically to the right in the last thirty years. These growing ‘Pro-Trump’ militia style rallies are frightening to those of us who read our history and know of the vileness and insidiousness of Nazi ideology. We now have in control of our government, people who have been willing to bend an ear and sympathize with these racist fascists who want to eliminate permanently those who are different. We KNOW the evil Nazism is capable of unleashing on the world. That is why every Republican needs to strongly come out and condemn these Neo-Nazis and other groups like the KKK, who want to tear apart America. There were hundreds of thousands of Americans who were killed or injured fighting the Nazis in World War II. For Republicans to embrace and enable Nazi sympathizers just for votes in not only a slap in the face to the ‘greatest generation’, but a direct violation of our core democratic principles of freedom and justice for all Americans. In short: AMERICA DOES NOT DO NAZISM!!!!

America does NOT do Nazism!

Dear Nazis: GO TO HELL!!!

Shades Of Nixon

In a stunning move Tuesday, American CEO/Dictator Donald Trump, fired FBI Director and man who got him elected, James Comey. This coming just days after Comey asked for more resources to investigate Trump’s connections to Russia. Wow! This smacks of Watergate, when Richard Nixon fired special prosecutor Archibald Cox in what came to be known as the Saturday Night Massacre. Donald Trump’s move is more like an authoritarian tyrant in a dictatorship than a President in a democracy.

But what’s really absurd about this is that Attorney Confederate General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, despite his recusal from the Russia ties investigation, suggested the firing supposedly because of the way Comey handled the Hillary Clinton email investigation. So now the Republicans are appalled that the FBI was so mean to Hillary (despite Trump leading chants of ‘Lock Her Up’ during the entire campaign). Or is it that they failed to plant evidence which would say she’s guilty, like the Republicans want. This is stinking worse than the stockyards during a heat wave. Better get out your waders, folks; the bullshit being shoveled by the Republicans is going to get taller than James Comey.

American CEO/Dictator, Donald Trump, fires FBI director and one tall dude, James Comey, for his mishandling of the Hillary Clinton investigation, and not because Comey was close to exposing evidence about Trump's collusion with Russia during the 2016 election.

Free Speech: But Only For Sycophants

American CEO/Dictator Donald Trump has made no secret about his admiration for authoritarian leaders throughout history and in modern times. He has openly praised dictators like Kim Jong Un, Vladimir Putin, and Philippines leader Duterte. Maybe that’s because being a CEO of a corporation is like being a dictator on a much smaller scale. Which is why the Republican line that we need to make America more like a corporation is completely contrary to the actual democratic process. Corporations aren’t democracies. Nobody has say so except the CEO, the board of directors and the stockholders, who are only interested in making a profit.

Which brings us to some dangerous dialogues and actions that have popped up recently that nobody noticed because of the propaganda flak machine operating from the White House. First, Chief of Staff, Reince Priebus intimated that Trump was thinking opening up libel laws which would allow the President to sue the press for what he thinks is unfair coverage. This would mean shackling the right to a free press which is guaranteed in the Constitution and sets us apart from other countries on this planet.

Then take the odd case of a person getting fined and jailed for laughing at Confederate Attorney General Jefferson Sessions during his confirmation hearing. WTF!!!! Are you kidding us???!!! These Republicans complain all the time about liberals being so PC and so sensitive and yet they are even more thin skinned. They can dish it out but they can’t take it. The only way they can ‘win’ is by suppressing the voices of their opposition. That isn’t democracy. That’s fascism. Like Teddy Roosevelt said, “To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

Contrary to current ‘President’ Donald Trump, one of the greatest Presidents in American history, Theodore ‘Teddy’ Roosevelt, acknowledged that it is morally treasonable to the American public to disallow criticism of the President.
